Terms of use

Last updated 3 September 2026

Breeze is not an emergency service. It does not contact the police, ambulance, fire service or any other emergency responder, and it is not a substitute for them. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Who provides Breeze

Breeze is operated by Zovia Studio LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, on behalf of the organisation that holds the account for the service. By using Breeze you agree to these terms.

What Breeze does

Breeze lets you check in with a small number of contacts you choose, send them a short request, share your location with them for a limited period, and keep notes, photos, files, voice notes and dated entries that only you can read unless you choose to share them.

What Breeze cannot promise

Breeze depends on things outside our control, and it will sometimes not work:

Do not rely on Breeze as your only means of getting help.

Adding people

When you add a contact, you confirm that you have their permission to send them messages through Breeze. Do not add anyone who has not agreed to it.

Anyone you add can remove themselves at any time, without telling you.

Your content

What you write, record and store in Breeze is yours. We do not claim any rights over it, and we cannot read it. See the privacy policy.

Sharing, and taking it back

When you stop sharing something with a contact, they can no longer open it. This prevents future access. It cannot recover anything they have already opened, copied or saved, and Breeze does not claim otherwise.

Acceptable use

Do not use Breeze to:

Accounts used this way may be suspended or removed.

If you lose your passphrase

Your recovery passphrase is the only way to restore your content on a new device. We do not hold it and cannot reset it. If it is lost, your content cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. Keep it somewhere you can reach and others cannot.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. See Delete your account. If the app is not opened for 60 days, the history is deleted automatically, with a reminder at 50 days.

No warranty

Breeze is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zovia Studio LLC and the organisation holding the account are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a message that was not delivered, a location that was inaccurate or unavailable, or a person who did not respond.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows.

Changes

These terms may change. If they do, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and continued use of Breeze means the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
